Besides his hundreds of commissions and accolades for his art, Dempsy has always been an avid collector, scouring unique locations to find one-of-a-kind materials to incorporate into his work. Together with his artist wife, Susie Christiansen, they’ve crafted a collector's sanctuary off the beaten path—a creative haven nestled in the hardwoods of NC where a wide variety of local artists have gone to talk, dream, and share stories with Dempsy in the role of touchstone and mentor.
